Collide Technical is seeking a Mechanical Inspector for a precision engineering client in Ferndown, Dorset. In a high-spec, aerospace-focused environment, you will inspect precision-engineered components to drawings, perform first-off, in-process and final checks, and maintain documentation.

You will work with manual inspection tools, gain CMM training, and enjoy flexible hours, autonomy, and clear progression within the expanding business.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Mechanical Inspector in precision engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience using manual inspection equipment.
• CMM experience desirable; training provided.
• Background in aerospace or regulated industries beneficial.

Collide Technical is working with a leading precision engineering company based in Ferndown, and is currently seeking a Mechanical Inspector to join their quality team.

The Role

You will be responsible for the inspection of precision-engineered components, ensuring all products meet strict quality and aerospace standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspecting machined components to engineering drawings and specifications
• Performing first-off, in-process, and final inspection
• Using a range of inspection equipment (verniers, micrometres, gauges, etc.)
• Completing inspection documentation and quality reports
• Supporting quality investigations and non-conformance processes
• Maintaining high standards of accuracy and attention to detail
• Managing your own workload with a high level of autonomy
