This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Inspector who enjoys working in a varied role covering incoming inspection, first-off inspection, in-process inspection and final inspection of precision machined components and complex assemblies. You'll be working in a modern manufacturing environment using a wide range of metrology equipment, including CMM, while supporting continuous improvement and maintaining the highest quality standards.
Starting salary of £40,000-£45,000 depending on experience

Inspecting incoming machined, fabricated and purchased components
Carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspection of precision parts and assemblies
Performing dimensional, visual and functional inspections

Producing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
Completing inspection reports, quality documentation and control plans
Supporting supplier quality investigations and first shipment inspections
Raising and documenting non-conformances
Assisting with root cause investigations and corrective actions
Maintaining accurate inspection records within the ERP system
Ensuring measuring equipment is correctly maintained and used
Working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to resolve quality issues
At least 3 years' experience as a Mechanical Inspector within manufacturing
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Good understanding of GD&T
Experience using manual inspection equipment including micrometers, verniers, height gauges, DTIs and bore gauges
Previous CMM programming and operating experience
Experience completing FAIR documentation
Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
Precision engineering or low-volume manufacturing experience would be advantageous
Aberlink CMM experience would be beneficial but not essential
