Job summary

Collide Technical in Ferndown, Dorset, is seeking a Mechanical Inspector to join the quality team in a high-spec, aerospace-focused environment. You will inspect precision-engineered components and work with autonomy, with training opportunities including CMM courses.

The role offers flexible hours, full autonomy, and a clear path for progression within a growing business, with exposure to aerospace standards and a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Mechanical Inspector within precision engineering.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience using manual inspection equipment.
• CMM experience desirable (training provided if required).
• Background in aerospace or highly regulated industries beneficial.
• Self-motivated with a quality-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting machined components to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Performing first-off, in-process, and final inspection.
• Using a range of inspection equipment (verniers, micrometres, gauges, etc.).
• Completing inspection documentation and quality reports.
• Supporting quality investigations and non-conformance processes.
• Maintaining high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Managing your own workload with a high level of autonomy.
