Qualifications

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings (GD&T beneficial).
• Senior or junior level with strong inspection background and willingness to learn CMM programming.
• Experience with either CMM programming or manual inspection foundations; training available.

• Inspect mechanical parts/assemblies to drawings and quality requirements.
• Carry out manual inspection using gauges, micrometres and precision measuring equipment.
• Complete and review First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
• Operate CMM equipment to confirm product conformity.
• Programme CMM routines where required (PC-DMIS preferred; training available).
• Liaise with Engineering/Production to resolve inspection findings and non-conformances.

Mechanical Inspector (CMM & Manual) - Permanent (Junior or Senior considered)

An excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Inspector to join an established and growing subcontract precision engineering business. You'll inspect high-precision, complex components using both CMM and manual methods, with a strong working environment, training support and premium-rate overtime.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect mechanical parts/assemblies to drawings and quality requirements
• Carry out manual inspection using gauges, micrometres and precision measuring equipment
• Complete and review First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
• Operate CMM equipment to confirm product conformity
• Programme CMM routines where required (PC‑DMIS preferred; training available)
• Liaise with Engineering/Production to resolve inspection findings and non-conformances

Who we're looking for

• Methodical, detail-focused approach; confident interpreting engineering drawings (GD&T beneficial)
• Senior level: proven inspection background including FAIRs, manual inspection and CMM programming
• Junior level: solid inspection foundations (e.g., machining/apprenticeship/shop-floor manufacturing) with willingness to learn CMM programming-training/mentoring provided
