Job summary

Jackie Kerr Recruitment - Engineering and Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Mechanical Quality Inspector for a manufacturing client. You will control quality from incoming materials through in-process checks to final delivery, with hands-on dimensional inspection.

The role requires a mechanical background, experience with measurement equipment and programmable CMM, and knowledge of ISO 9001. Strong communication with internal teams and external agencies is essential.

Qualifications

• Mechanical background with manufacturing experience.
• Experience using a wide range of measurement equipment and programmable CMM.
• Familiar with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong communication skills, both internal and with external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming materials and returns from Outsources, and approve in-process production.
• Validate First-Off measurements and maintain metrology equipment per ISO 9001.
• Document inspection results in internal systems.
• Raise and investigate NCRs with corrective/preventive actions.
• Present KPI statistics for monthly reviews.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers, including audits when required.

Job description

Our client is looking for an experienced, dynamic and qualified Mechanical Quality Inspector to take control of all aspects of quality control from material supply, through policing in-process inspection, to final delivery along with a disciplined and 'hands on' approach to dimensional inspection. The role will involve customer and supplier liaison, management of NCR's & development of corrective/preventative actions in line with ISO 9001 standards and further development/improvement of the system.

Mechanical Quality Inspector Roles and Responsibilities:

• Inspecting, confirming and authorising in-coming materials and returns from Outsources
• Approving In-Process production and validating 'First-Off measurements
• Upkeep, Maintenance and calibration of Metrology gauges and equipment to ISO 9001
• Documenting all inspection results on companys internal systems
• Raising and investigating NCR's with implementation of corrective/preventive measures
• Presentation of KPI statistics for monthly review
• Liaison with customers and suppliers including conducting audits where required.
• Maintenance of ISO 9001 accreditation as it relates to the Production

Mechanical Quality Inspector Ideal Candidate Will:

• Mechanical background working within manufacturing
• Have experience using a wide range of measurement equipment and programmable CMM
• Be able to demonstrate and pass on your skills and experience of quality inspection
• Familiar with and have experience of working within an ISO 9001 environment
• Be able to interpret engineering drawings
• You will have good communication skills both internally and to outside ‘agencies’ by telephone/email
• 37 hour weeks
• Monday – Thursday 08:00 – 16:30 Friday 08:00 – 13:00
• Opportunity for overtime, weekend, and shift work (paid at a premium)
