Job summary

PDQ Engineering Recruitment & Training Services Ltd seeks a Quality Inspector to manage in-process and final inspections, ensuring ISO 9001 compliance. The role involves analysing drawings, calibrating measurement tools, and liaising with customers and suppliers to drive continuous quality improvements.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CMMs, NCR processes, and a disciplined, team-oriented approach to maintain quality across production and supply chains.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering background in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and use measurement equipment including CMM.
• Experience in ISO 9001 environment and NCR handling.
• Strong teamwork and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming materials and returns from suppliers/outsourced.
• Approve In-Process production and validate First-Off measurements.
• Maintain calibration of metrology gauges and equipment to ISO 9001.
• Document all inspection results in internal systems.
• Raise and investigate NCRs with corrective/preventive actions.
• Present KPI statistics for monthly review.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers and conduct audits when required.
• Maintain ISO 9001 accreditation as it relates to Production.

Quality Inspector

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and qualified 'In-process' inspector to take control of all aspects of quality control from material supply, through policing in-process inspection, to final delivery along with a disciplined and 'hands on' approach to dimensional inspection. The role will involve customer and supplier liaison, management of NCR's & development of corrective/preventative actions in line with ISO 9001 standards and further development/improvement of the system.

Key responsibilities

• Inspecting, confirming and authorising in-coming materials and returns from outsources.
• Approving In-Process production and validating 'First-Off' measurements
• Upkeep, Maintenance and calibration of Metrology gauges and equipment to ISO 9001
• Documenting all inspection results on company's internal systems
• Raising and investigating NCR's with implementation of corrective/preventive measures
• Presentation of KPI statistics for monthly review
• Liaison with customers and suppliers including conducting audits where required.
• Maintenance of ISO 9001 accreditation as it relates to the Production

Key skills and experience

• Ideally you will have a mechanical engineering background, working within manufacturing environment.
• You will be able to interpret engineering drawings and support production improvement initiatives. Have experience using a wide range of measurement equipment and programmable CMM
• You will be able to demonstrate and pass on your skills and experience of quality inspection. The candidate will be fully familiar with, and have experience of working within an ISO 9001 environment.
• The ideal candidate will be able to work in a team environment, have the necessary 'people skills' to develop and improve the quality culture of the business and flexibility to support other departments. Have a 'Continuous improvement' focus
