Job summary

We are recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join an established manufacturing business. The role is on a night shift pattern of 4 on/4 off, working within a busy engineering team to maximise plant reliability and minimise downtime.

Key duties include breakdown response, fault diagnosis, parts requisition, and supporting projects for new equipment installations and factory improvements. You will repair, overhaul and refurbish components and mentor apprentices.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Level 3).
• Experience in a mechanical fitting or maintenance role.
• Good knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Respond to breakdowns to maximise plant uptime
• Diagnose faults/root cause and implement corrective actions
• Carry out parts requisitions to maintain stock levels and reduce downtime
• Assist with project work (new equipment installations and factory improvements)
• Repair, overhaul and refurbish components and equipment

• Support and complete TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)
• Preparing reports/checklists
