Job summary

Peaple Talent is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Fitter for a permanent night-shift role in a leading manufacturing business in the UK. You will perform planned and reactive mechanical maintenance, diagnose faults, and support continuous improvement with production teams.

Qualifications

• Recognised mechanical engineering qualification.
• Experience in manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Welding, grinding and fabrication experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance.
• Diagnose faults and minimise downtime.
• Maintain and repair plant machinery and equipment.

Permanent Position

A leading manufacturing business is looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join its established engineering team.

The Role

• Carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance
• Diagnosing faults and minimising equipment downtime
• Maintaining and repairing plant machinery and equipment
• Supporting TPM and continuous improvement activities
• Assisting with machinery installations and engineering projects
• Working closely with production teams to maximise plant performance

About You

• A recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent)
• Experience within a manufacturing, industrial, or heavy engineering environment
• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
• Welding, grinding, and fabrication experience
