Job summary

TXM Recruit is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician for heavy maintenance on a fleet of rail vehicles in Cardiff on a 12 month contract. The role offers 36 hours per week with overtime potential, paid at £19.56 per hour PAYE or £25.98 per hour Umbrella. Monday to Friday days with early/late rotation.

Open to candidates from heavy engineering or related sectors. The ideal candidate will have NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and proven experience in vehicle maintenance or overhaul activities,

Qualifications

• Experienced engineer, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent as a minimum.
• Proven experience in vehicle maintenance or overhaul/refurbishment activities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance and overhaul of Rail Vehicles to laid down standards and procedures.
• Work on the underframes of rail vehicles to refit/replace components as part of the overhaul.

This role has a rate of £19.56 ph PAYE or £25.98 Umb - 36 hours a week (with possible overtime), Monday to Friday Days Earlies and Lates on a rotation!!

The ideal individuals will have experience in some form of heavy Engineering or a relatable industry such as Vehicle/Aircraft maintenance, heavy engineering (REME, HGV, PSV etc) but all background industries will be considered

Your Tasks

• Carry out maintenance and overhaul of Rail Vehicles to laid down standards and procedures
• Working on the underframes of rail vehicles to refit/replace components as part of the overhaul.

Your Profile

• Experienced engineer, qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent as a minimum.
• Some Proven experience, involvement and understanding of vehicle maintenance or overhaul/refurbishment activities
