Job Description

Deritend, part of the Rubix Group, was founded in 1898 and serves more than 3,500 customers in the UK. It boasts a blue-chip client base that includes some of the largest manufacturers and best-known brands in the world. We specialise in optimising asset performance, including motors, gearboxes, pumps, machining induction, condition monitoring, and fabrication services.

The purpose of the role is to inspect, identify problems, strip, and repair motors and gearboxes to the required customer standards.

Responsibilities, Main Tasks and Deliverables:

1. Ensure workflow procedures are followed.
2. Ensure plant maintenance is carried out and recorded.
3. Dismantle and inspect rotating plant equipment and assess appropriate fixes.
4. Carry out workplace risk assessments and method statements where necessary.
5. Provide guidance and technical support to personnel and apprentices.
6. Refurbishment of pumps and rotating equipment, including stripping and painting.
7. Ensure workshop presentation standards are maintained and working areas are cleaned regularly.
8. Ensure quality of work aligns with customer expectations.
9. Deliver jobs in line with customer timescales.
10. Follow customer stripping and inspection procedures for all parts.
11. Perform customer site work as required.
12. Ensure all company H&S policies and procedures are followed to ensure safety.
13. Promote a safety-first working culture.
14. Work closely with customers to understand and address their needs, providing high levels of service.
15. Deliver on commitments and take personal responsibility to ensure customer satisfaction.

Skills and Experience

• C&G Mechanical Fitting H03 & H25 or equivalent.
• Knowledge of pump fundamentals.
• Fully conversant with all types of pumps.
• BPMA certification is advantageous.
• Driving license.
