Job Overview

Heidelberg Materials UK is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to support our cement production operations. The successful candidate will perform planned, preventive, and reactive maintenance on plant equipment, ensuring optimal operational reliability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Carry out mechanical inspections and maintenance as directed by supervisors.
2. Remove, repair, and reassemble conveyors, rollers, side skirts, pumps, motors, bearings, shafts, gearboxes, and hydraulics.
3. Utilize workshop equipment such as lathes, milling machines, and drill presses.
4. Perform welding and fabrication tasks.
5. Identify and troubleshoot mechanical faults, implementing appropriate solutions.
6. Work with SAP and SHEQ systems and demonstrate multi-skilling abilities.

Qualifications & Experience

• NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Maintenance or equivalent.
• Completed a recognized mechanical engineering apprenticeship.
• Proficient in MS Office and SAP.
• Experience with heavy industry manufacturing plants, especially in cement production.
