Qualifications

Job description
Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our manufacturing team. Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor you will be responsible for the assembly, maintenance, and repair of mobile industrial water treatment systems. This hands-on role requires technical expertise in mechanical systems and a commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble, install, maintain, and repair mechanical components to ensure optimal equipment functionality
  • Perform refurbishment and fabrication of parts and equipment
  • Conduct routine and preventative maintenance tasks
  • Calibrate and validate instruments to maintain accuracy and compliance
  • Work independently or collaboratively with qualified fitters, fabricators, welders, and electricians on larger projects
  • Adhere to Safety Risk Assessments and EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) standards
  • Maintain workplace organization through regular 5S/housekeeping activities
  • Participate in LEAN/KAIZEN continuous improvement initiatives
  • Attend training sessions and team meetings
  • Willing to work overtime when required
  • Proven mechanical assembly experience
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • Hands-on experience with PVC and stainless-steel pipework, valves, and fittings
  • Previous work in an industrial manufacturing or maintenance environment
  • Strong understanding of EHS and quality compliance requirements
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Skills
  • MIG and/or TIG welding certification or experience
  • Familiarity with water treatment systems
