Job summary

Greenacre Environmental Systems Ltd. is expanding its site team in Dewsbury and seeks a permanent Mechanical Fitter to support projects across the UK for the water industry. You’ll work with established teams and may need to relocate depending on project needs.

The role requires CSCS and proven ductwork installation experience; GRP glassing is a plus. You will read schematics, plan sequences, and uphold safety and quality standards while contributing to project delivery.

Qualifications

• CSCS card is required.
• Experience in ductwork installation is required; GRP glassing is advantageous but not required.
• Ability to interpret schematics and maintenance drawings to identify faults.
• Organised approach with ability to plan removal/replacement sequences.
• Commitment to Environment, Quality and Health & Safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle and re-assemble mechanical ductwork and fans.
• Carry out pre-commissioning tests and commissioning procedures.
• Inspect systems, identify faults and produce short reports.
• Ensure adherence to safety, environmental and quality procedures.
• Perform preventative maintenance on plant and equipment.
• Assist project teams with scheduling upcoming projects.
• Support other disciplines when required.
• Operate tools safely and maintain equipment to high standards.

Job description

What Are We Looking For?

Greenacre Environmental Systems is delighted to announce the expansion of their site team within Dewsbury as we look to hire a Mechanical Fitter to join us on a permanent basis. You'll be working with established teams to assist in our continued successful delivery of projects across the UK for our clients within the Water industry.

Please note this position will require flexibility on working location.

Some of Your Key Duties of the Role Include:

• Dismantle and re-assemble mechanical assemblies; primarily PVC-GRP ductwork and fans.
• Carry out pre-commissioning testing and commissioning procedures on installed ventilation systems.
• Complete inspections, fault identification and produce short reports on existing ventilation systems.
• Ensure quality, environmental and health and safety procedures are adhered to.
• Carry out preventative maintenance work on plant and equipment.
• Work alongside the project team to assist with the scheduling of upcoming projects.
• Assist other disciplines when required.
• Ensure safe use of hand tools, machinery, and other equipment.
• Ensure equipment is maintained to a high and safe standard.

What Do You Need?

• CSCS Card
• Demonstrable experience in ductwork installation. Skill in GRP glassing is advantageous but not required.
• The ability to understand and use schematics and maintenance drawings to analyse, assess, and find faults within these systems.
• To be organised and have the ability to plan a sequence of events, which are required to remove and reinstall components within a working system.
• Capable of self-checking work and to possess high personal standards with respect to Environment, Quality and Health & Safety.
• Water industry experience is useful but not required.
• Full UK driving licence
