Job summary

WES, part of the RSE Group, is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join our Site Services team. You will deliver mechanical installation projects across the UK water industry, installing, upgrading and refurbishing chemical dosing systems and associated equipment.

The role involves travel throughout the UK with regular away-from-home work; accommodation and travel arrangements are provided. NVQ/Apprenticeship in mechanical engineering and plastics experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • NVQ or Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, Pipefitting or equivalent.
  • Proven Mechanical installation experience specifically working with plastics.
  • Good knowledge of Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety processes/procedures.
  • Water industry experience would be highly advantageous; other industries considered.

Responsibilities

  • Installation of new and existing mechanical process equipment, including chemical dosing skids, kiosks and associated plant.
  • Fabrication, assembly and installation of PVC-U, PP, PE and PVDF pipework systems, including valves, fittings and support systems.
  • Installation, replacement and alignment of pumps, valves, tanks, instrumentation and ancillary mechanical equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs and installation layouts to ensure work is completed accurately and to specification.
  • Carry out pressure testing, commissioning support and mechanical inspections to ensure installations meet quality and client standards.
  • Work safely in accordance with RAMS, site procedures and health & safety legislation, maintaining the highest standards of workmanship.
  • Support electrical installation engineers, commissioning engineers and other disciplines to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and on programme.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping, complete site documentation and communicate effectively with supervisors and clients.
  • Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role and your skill set to support the successful delivery of projects.

What Are We Looking For?

What Do You Need?
  • NVQ or Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, Pipefitting or equivalent.
