Job summary

Greenacre Environmental Systems is seeking a Project Engineer for a permanent role based in Dewsbury to deliver projects end-to-end. You will coordinate with an experienced team and have access to an in-house design group for real-time technical solutions.

You will lead and guide trade operatives and apprentices, manage design and construction documentation, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards throughout project lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Degree/HND/HNC/NVQ level in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Good time management and multitasking abilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead others.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Project liaison from enquiry to final acceptance and documentation.
• Direct and allocate work to Trade Operatives & Apprentices, with attention to quality, productivity and safety.
• Ensure all technical information is available for the delivery of design/construction.
• Interpret drawings, specifications and schedules; prepare final documentation (As Built Drawings etc.).
• Identify and resolve non-conformance in design and construction phases.
• Manage the design of systems and products to align with specifications and technical aspects.
• Complete contract documents.
• Manage Project Quality deliverables and procedures per internal and client standards.
• Input to Tender, design and construction programmes with progress updates.
• Liaise with subcontractors including tender specs and H&S documentation.
• Prepare Construction Phase Health and Safety Plans under CDM responsibilities.

What Are We Looking For?

Greenacre Environmental Systems is looking for a Project Engineer to join the business on a permanent basis based in Dewsbury. You will be responsible for the delivery of projects and manage the performance of projects end-to-end.

This position would ideally suit someone with the ambition to take on challenges and deliver results, with the support of an experienced team. As well as benefit from access to an in-house design team to provide technical solutions in real-time.

Some of Your Key Duties of the Role Include:

• Project liaison from enquiry stage to final acceptance and documentation, meeting with Clients as required to discuss specific requirements and carry out site surveys as required.
• Instructing, directing, controlling and allocating work to Trade Operatives & Apprentices, with attention to quality, productivity and safety.
• Ensure all technical information is available when required for the delivery of design and/or construction.
• Interpret and check drawings, specifications and schedules for all activities, directing works accordingly & prepare final documentation (As Built Drawings etc.).
• Early Identification and resolution of non-conformance within both the design and construction phase
• Manage the design of systems and products, ensuring alignment with design specifications and technical aspects.
• Completion of contract documents
• Management of Project Quality deliverables and procedures ensuring compliance with Internal and Client Quality Systems.
• Input to Tender, design and construction programmes including progress updates and reporting.
• Subcontractor liaison, management including tender specification, quotation and H&S documentation review and appraisal.
• Preparation of Construction Phase Health and Safety Plans for projects with Principal Contractor responsibility under CDM.

What Do You Need?

• Qualification to degree / HND/ HNC/NVQ level in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Good time management, with the ability to multitask, plan and organise day-to-day workloads within a busy environment.
• Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Good communication skills in both verbal and written communication with an ability to follow, interpret and explain technical instructions.
• Good interpersonal skills with an ability to work with, lead and motivate others, and be able to bring projects to successful completion.
• Full UK Driving Licence
