Job summary

Galliford Try is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join the AVRS Systems team in Norwich. You will prepare and submit competitive tenders for clean water, wastewater and sludge treatment projects, collaborating with engineers, procurement and delivery teams to ensure robust commercial submissions.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating, commercial or project delivery environments.
• Knowledge of tender preparation and estimating processes.
• Understanding of contracts and Conditions of Contract.
• Familiarity with client asset standards and WIMES specs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare enquiry schedules and liaise with stakeholders to identify suppliers and subcontractors.
• Evaluate supplier quotations to support commercial decisions.
• Review contract conditions, bonds, warranties and insurance requirements.
• Produce cost estimates and Bills of Quantities.
• Develop cost data using project feedback and market intelligence.
• Identify opportunities to improve competitiveness in tenders.
• Identify tender risks and produce risk registers.
• Prepare preliminary cost estimates and pricing submissions.
• Compile commercial documentation for tenders.
• Attend tender finalisation and handover meetings with cost information.
• Support accurate, compliant tender submissions across the bid process.
