Job summary

Galliford Try Group is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join AVRS Systems and support tender submissions for UK water sector projects. The role focuses on cost build-ups, supplier liaison, risk assessment and commercial competitiveness in a multidisciplinary team.

You will develop cost data, prepare pricing submissions and ensure compliant tender documentation while collaborating with engineering, procurement and project delivery teams to secure winning bids.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating, commercial or project delivery environments.
• Understanding of the estimating process and tender preparation.
• Knowledge of construction contracts and Conditions of Contract.
• Understanding of client asset standards and WIMES specifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare enquiry schedules and liaise with internal stakeholders and procurement teams.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations to support robust commercial decision-making.
• Provide information to review contract conditions, bonds, warranties and insurance requirements.
• Produce detailed analytical rate build-ups and Bills of Quantities.
• Develop and refine cost data using project feedback and market intelligence.
• Identify opportunities to improve commercial competitiveness and add value to tender submissions.
• Identify, assess and manage tender risks, producing risk registers where required.
• Prepare preliminary cost estimates and pricing submissions.
• Compile commercial documentation for tender submissions.
• Attend tender finalisation and handover meetings, presenting cost information and recommendations.
• Support the successful delivery of accurate, compliant and commercially robust tender submissions.
• Work collaboratively with engineering, procurement and project delivery teams throughout the bid process.
