Cleveland Police is seeking a skilled Mechanical Estates Officer to maintain and improve mechanical building services across a diverse estate including police stations and operational facilities. You will manage maintenance, inspections, and projects to ensure safety, compliance, and reliability, supporting frontline policing 24 hours a day.

Reporting to the Estates Manager, you will oversee planned maintenance, contractor performance, and lifecycle planning, while ensuring statutory compliance

Competenze

• A recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. IWFM).
• Experience managing mechanical building services within a complex estate.
• Knowledge of HVAC, heating systems, water systems, plumbing and mechanical plant.
• Understanding of statutory compliance and health & safety requirements.
• Experience managing external contractors and service providers.
• Full UK driving licence.

Mansioni

• Managing planned preventative maintenance programmes for mechanical services.
• Monitoring contractor performance to ensure work is delivered safely on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
• Ensuring statutory compliance for mechanical systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), water hygiene, pressure systems, lifts, generators and associated plant.
• Supporting the delivery of refurbishment, maintenance, and capital projects.
• Carrying out condition surveys and identifying lifecycle replacement requirements.
• Providing technical advice and guidance to colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Investigating faults and coordinating reactive maintenance to minimise operational disruption.
• Maintaining accurate records, reports, certification, and asset information.
• Supporting health and safety compliance and ensuring adherence to relevant legislation and Police Force policies.
• Respond to emergency situations or system failures and participate in the Estates on-call rota.
