Cummins is seeking a Student Engineer placement at its Drivetrain and Braking Systems team in Cwmbran, Wales. The placement is open to candidates eligible for a placement year and starts Summer 2027.

The role is onsite, with relocation/travel required at the candidate's expense. You'll work under supervision on live projects, contribute to the detailed design of components, and help create tolerances and layouts while testing physical parts for performance and reliability.

Formación

• Currently studying for an accredited engineering degree, preferably Mechanical Engineering or transferable.
• Show an interest in working in a global corporation and Adaptability to working in a changing environment.
• Capable of independent working and team work as required.
• Keen to work in an automotive organisation with a keen interest in the automotive industry.

Responsabilidades

• Gain hands-on experience by working on live projects under the supervision of an experienced Engineer, ensuring real-world exposure.
• Involve in various aspects of a typical Engineering role, including the detailed design of components to industry standards.
• Participate in creating construction or tolerance layouts, and conduct thorough testing of physical components for performance and reliability.
• Acquire knowledge about simulation techniques and software used in engineering projects to predict and enhance performance.
• Undertake an individual project that focuses on developing specific skills and knowledge, paving the way for future career advancement.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of engineering practices and principles, preparing you for a successful career in the engineering field.
