Job summary

Cummins in Cwmbran, Wales is seeking an enthusiastic Student Engineer for a Summer 2027 placement. You will gain hands-on experience on live projects under supervision, learning what it takes to operate in a global engineering organization.

You must be currently studying for an accredited engineering degree (prefer Mechanical or transferable). The role requires onsite work and relocation/travel to the location as needed, with exposure to design, testing and simulation techniques.

• Show an interest in working in a global corporation and adaptability to a changing environment.
• Capable of independent working and teamwork as required.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Student Engineer to join our team specializing in design and development for our Cummins Drivetrain and Braking Systems business in Cwmbran, Wales. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry.

This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence Summer 2027.

The requirements are to be onsite so you will need to be able to travel or relocate to the location on your own behalf.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
