Job summary

BAE Systems Digital Intelligence in Great Baddow, Chelmsford, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to join the Mechanical and Thermal Engineering Team. You will design and detail concepts, create 3D CAD models, and produce drawings for manufacture, with analysis of structural integrity and thermal performance.

You will work with customers, applying new materials and manufacturing techniques, and deliver prototypes through to production data packs.

Qualifications

• A good degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Strong background in mechanical design, structural analysis, and materials.
• Ability to use CAD and FE analysis tools and MS Office.
• Self-directed with ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical design service and promote best practice with toolsets.
• Innovate to develop mechanical design and thermal management techniques.
• Introduce new materials/processes to reduce production costs.
• Liaise with customers to understand requirements and provide bespoke solutions.
• Report findings clearly in written and verbal form.
