Job summary

MBDA is seeking a Lead Thermal Engineer to shape and deliver thermal solutions across challenging programmes. The role spans heat transfer analysis, computational and experimental work, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in a high-security environment.

You will lead a team in the design and validation of thermal performance for mechanical and electronic systems, with opportunities across UK and multinational projects.

Qualifications

• Essential: degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• Strong knowledge of heat transfer analysis using computational methods and manual calculations.
• Experience applying CAE tools (e.g. ANSYS, MATLAB, Python) in a regulated design environment.
• Motivated with good organisational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a variety of projects to stretch skills and imagination in thermal engineering.
• Collaborate within MBDA and with multinational teams on UK projects.
• Balance technical delivery with cost and schedule considerations.
• Provide guidance and leadership to engineers within the team.
