James Fisher and Sons plc in Inchinnan, near Glasgow, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, develop and support through-life engineering of our global product range for defence and commercial markets. You will work with Sales, Production and Project Management to deliver cost-effective solutions, produce drawings, BOMs, specifications, and ensure on-time delivery within quality standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in mechanical design and calculations.
• Knowledge of DFM and DFA.
• Ability to take designs from concept to production.
• Understanding of gas and fluid systems.
• Good communication across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsabilités

• Design and deliver innovative engineering solutions for new products and through-life support.
• Collaborate with Sales, Procurement, Production, and Project Management.
• Source materials, maintain BOMs, and ensure accurate engineering data.
• Produce and review drawings, specifications, assembly instructions, and test procedures.
• Ensure activities are on time, within budget, and compliant with standards.
• Visit sites, customers, and suppliers to support delivery and investigations.
