Job summary

James Fisher and Sons plc is seeking a Project Engineer in Inchinnan, near Glasgow, to support defence maritime engineering projects. The role requires knowledge of UK Defence Standards and hands-on diving/maritime experience, with a focus on design, development, and operation of advanced dive systems and naval technologies.

The successful candidate will collaborate across disciplines, manage schedules and budgets, and ensure compliance with security and defence requirements.

Qualifications

• - Engineering fundamentals and UK Defence Standards knowledge.
• - Experience in teams of varied disciplines.
• - Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• - PLM system experience for documentation control.
• - Knowledge of diving, maritime or naval systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to meet objectives and improve delivery profitability.
• Regularly communicate engineering updates to all stakeholders.
• Assist in proposals, timeframes, schedules, and budgets; prepare reports.
• Monitor obsolescence and manage obsolescence programs.
• Manage Technical Queries and the TQ process.
• Ensure engineering database is accurately configured.
• Support the Quality Supplier Management System.
• Ensure compliance with defence and industry standards.
