Job summary

Viridor is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer for a full-time, on-site role at the new Energy Recovery Facility. You will help prepare the site for operations and establish engineering practices to support long-term success, working under the Engineering and Maintenance Manager.

You will plan maintenance activities, manage stores/workshops, and provide guidance to colleagues to drive capability and continuous improvement as the ERF moves toward operation in 2028.

Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical machinery repair methods, materials, and maintenance practices.
• Experience with Permit to Work and Safe Systems of Work processes.
• Experience supervising teams and contractors to meet KPIs.
• Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels.
• Engineering qualification such as an HNC or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute maintenance activities across the ERF plant, including stores and workshops.
• Provide guidance and support to colleagues to develop capability and drive improvement.
