Job summary

Viridor Limited seeks an Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineer for the Tilbury ERF in Essex. The role is full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday, with a competitive salary and participation in an annual bonus scheme, plus benefits.

The closing date is 31st October 2026. Reporting to the Engineering and Maintenance Manager, you will oversee electrical, control and instrumentation engineering and maintenance on site, ensuring availability, safety and asset value as the plant

Qualifications

• Knowledge of repair methods for electrical, control and instrumentation systems and equipment.
• Experience with Permit to Work and Safe Systems of Work processes.
• Experience supervising teams and contractors to deliver KPIs.
• Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
• An appropriate engineering qualification, such as an HNC or equivalent.
• Previous experience in Energy Recovery Facility or heavy industrial environment advantageous.
• Experience with DCS, PLC and SCADA platforms advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Ensure long-term availability and reliability of plant electrical and control systems.
• Plan and execute maintenance across the ERF plant.
• Support stores and workshops management; ensure safe and efficient maintenance delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure high engineering standards.
• Provide guidance to colleagues and develop site capability.
