Job summary

CarnaudMetalbox Engineering (CMbE) in Leeds is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Decorator to design and manufacture custom finishing machines. You will create 3D models and 2D drawings, generate BOMs, and drive parts release using MRP II.

The role requires hands-on experience with Siemens NX, strong drafting skills, and the ability to interpret complex customer specifications while delivering on-time, in-full solutions.

Qualifications

• HNC in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering required or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years' mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience with 3D CAD modelling and 2D drawings in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency in BOM creation and using an MRP II system.
• Familiarity with BS8888 standards and interpreting complex engineering drawings.
• Strong time-management and ability to manage multiple projects to tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Interpret customer specifications and design machines to meet requirements.
• Produce 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings for parts and assemblies.
• Create and issue BOMs to support timely manufacture.
• Use MRP II and PLM systems for part release and documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with BS8888 and relevant British standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical support across the business.
