Job summary

CMbE CarnaudMetalbox Engineering in Wortley (Leeds) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Decorator to interpret customer specifications and design machines to order. You will create 3D models and 2D drawings, generate BOMs, and support manufacturing using an MRP II system.

The role requires 2+ years in mechanical engineering, proficiency in Siemens NX CAD, and strong drawing interpretation skills. BS8888 standards and effective communication across teams are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an HNC in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering; a degree is advantageous.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a Mechanical Engineering role.
• Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Interpret customer specifications and design machines to meet requirements.
• Produce 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings.
• Generate BOMs and manage parts in an MRP II system for on-time manufacture.
• Create manufacturing drawings in line with BS8888 standards.
• Provide technical support across the business and to CMbE’s global customer base.
