Job summary

Morson Edge is recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer for an aerospace client in Yeovil. The role focuses on developing concept designs, supporting analyses, and producing detailed drawings for production, including tolerance analyses.

You will work with ECS/LSS scopes and contribute to design packs while liaising with production planning to optimise for manufacture. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in precision design, experience with 3D CAD (Siemens NX), GD&T, and a willingness to engage in

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in design, ideally in precision components.
• Experience with 3D CAD, preferably Siemens NX.
• Basic understanding of GD&T.
• Basic knowledge of configuration control.
• Six Sigma and Lean knowledge would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of machining and other manufacturing techniques would be advantageous.
• Ability to work in a flexible environment and push beyond comfort zone.

Responsibilities

• Develop concept designs and supporting analyses.
• Complete drawing packs and tolerance analyses.
• Liaise with production engineering and production planning to optimise the design for production.
• Deliver against project schedules and milestones within a multi-project team.
