Job summary

Evolve Talent Search Ltd is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team on a large, high-profile site in Northampton. The role centres on planned and reactive maintenance of mechanical building services, with a focus on pumps, heating systems and associated plant.

You will perform PPM, fault finding and repairs across building services, manage subcontractors, and support water hygiene requirements. This is a stable, long-term contract with progression and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 NVQ in Plumbing or another relevant mechanical discipline.
• Strong mechanical building services maintenance experience.
• Experience with mechanical plant including pumps, motors, belts and actuators.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) & reactive maintenance
• Fault finding, diagnosing and repairing mechanical plant and building services systems
• Maintaining pumps, motors, belts, actuators, heating and plumbing systems
• Carrying out water sampling and supporting water hygiene requirements
• Managing specialist subcontractors carrying out PPM and reactive works

Mechanical Engineer

£40,000–£42,500 | Monday to Friday, 8:00–17:00

We’re hiring for a Mechanical Engineer to join the engineering team on a large, high-profile business-critical site in Northampton.

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across the site, with a strong focus on mechanical building services, commercial plumbing, heating systems and associated plant.

Responsibilities for a Mechanical Engineer

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) & reactive maintenance
• Fault finding, diagnosing and repairing mechanical plant and building services systems
• Maintaining pumps, motors, belts, actuators, heating and plumbing systems
• Carrying out water sampling and supporting water hygiene requirements
• Managing specialist subcontractors carrying out PPM and reactive works

Requirements

• Minimum Level 2 NVQ in Plumbing or another relevant mechanical discipline
• Strong mechanical building services maintenance experience
• Experience with mechanical plant including pumps, motors, belts and actuators
• Previous PPM and reactive maintenance experience within FM or commercial buildings
