Northcote M&E is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its Milton Keynes team. You will design HVAC and public health systems, focusing on low carbon design and energy efficiency across varied projects.

Qualifications

Mechanical Engineer

Location: Milton Keynes

The opportunity

A growing M&E and low carbon consultancy is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join its Milton Keynes team. You'll design HVAC and public health systems on varied projects, with low carbon design at the heart of the work. This is a firm small enough for you to be noticed and ambitious enough to grow with.

What you'll do

• Design heating, ventilation, cooling, domestic water and drainage systems across RIBA stages
• Carry out heat loss and gain calculations, duct and pipe sizing, and plant selection
• Develop low carbon solutions, including heat pumps, MVHR and decarbonisation of existing buildings
• Support Part L compliance, energy strategies and dynamic thermal modelling
• Produce drawings, schematics and specifications
• Coordinate with electrical and architectural teams using BIM, and support site visits and commissioning

What you'll need

• Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
• Consultancy experience in building services mechanical design
• Working knowledge of CIBSE guides and Building Regulations Parts F and L
• Hevacomp, IES VE or similar, plus AutoCAD; Revit MEP an advantage
• A genuine interest in low carbon and sustainable design
