Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• 5+ years UK-based consultancy experience with commercial/offices projects.
• Chartered status (CEng) or working towards it.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design process on complex commercial and mixed-use projects from concept to detailed design.
• Produce sustainable HVAC designs compliant with UK regulations and CIBSE guidelines.
• Coordinate with electrical, public health, architects and contractors.
• Mentor and support junior engineers within the team.
• Attend client meetings, conduct site surveys and manage deliverables to deadlines.

They are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team, focusing on high-profile commercial and mixed‑use developments across the capital.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design process on complex commercial and mixed‑use projects from concept through to detailed design.
• Produce sustainable and energy‑efficient HVAC designs, ensuring compliance with UK building regulations and CIBSE guidelines.
• Coordinate seamlessly with electrical and public health engineers, as well as external architects and contractors.
• Mentor and support the development of junior and intermediate engineers within the team.
• Attend client meetings, conduct site surveys, and manage project deliverables within set deadlines.

What You Need to Succeed

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• A minimum of 5 years of UK-based consultancy experience, with a strong portfolio in commercial office fit‑outs and mixed‑use developments.
• Proficiency in Hevacomp, IES (desirable), and a solid understanding of Revit/BIM workflows.
• Chartered status (CEng) or actively working towards it.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
