Mechanical Building Services Engineer (Intermediate / Senior)
Design it. Own it. See it built.
If you’re a mechanical building services engineer who’s tired of being one name on a drawing register at a big consultancy, here’s the alternative. An independent, director-led M&E consultancy where your designs go from first sketch to commissioning with your fingerprints all over them, and the person running the business knows exactly what you’ve delivered.
Why this one’s different
- Independent and personal. No layers of associates between you and the decisions. The practice was built on giving every client, big or small, a properly professional but personal service, and that’s how they treat their engineers too.
- Low carbon is the day job, not a slide in a pitch deck. The director is a Chartered Environmentalist, and the team has been ripping fossil fuel plant out of school estates and replacing it with CO2 heat pumps. They’ve even put their own PV and battery storage to work charging the company EV.
- Proper variety. Education, student accommodation, commercial, healthcare, industrial and public sector. A new-build sports hall one month, a full strip-out and refurb the next.
- Real progression. A growing team with a clear route to Senior and Principal, with your CIBSE or IMechE membership and CPD backed.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading mechanical design from concept to detailed design: HVAC, heating, cooling, LTHW, CHW and public health
- Running the numbers yourself: heating and cooling loads, hydraulics, pipe sizing

- Writing the specs, reports and technical schedules
