Job summary

Speedy Hire in Tamworth is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our depot team. The role covers mechanical repairs, assembly and servicing of industrial products such as power tools and lifting equipment, with a focus on safe, efficient operations.

You will contribute to ESG initiatives and work within a supportive team to deliver high-quality service, with training and career development opportunities provided by Speedy Hire.

Qualifications

• Must have previous mechanical engineering experience within hire industry or similar engineering field.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and computer usage.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to work under pressure and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs, assembly and servicing on industrial products (power tools, lifting equipment).
• Prioritise repairs and maintenance to meet operational needs and safety standards.
• Support ESG initiatives and contribute to the wellbeing and development of the business unit.

Mechanical Engineer - Tamworth - Monday to Friday - 42 Hours

Based in the depot in Tamworth, the Mechanical Engineer plays a key role in our operations, performing mechanical repairs, assembly and servicing on our range of industrial products such as power tools and lifting equipment, ensuring that all repairs and maintenance of equipment is prioritised effectively.

For us to help you on your journey to success, here’s what you will need:

• Previous mechanical engineering experience is essential, ideally gained within the hire industry or other engineering field
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Able to work under pressure and as part of a team
• Ability to support your business unit/team to deliver our ESG Strategy – Decade to Deliver.
