Job summary

A Mechanical Engineer is urgently sought to join a leading facilities management and maintenance contractor in the UK. The role covers both planned and reactive FM maintenance services, with a diverse workload where no two days are the same.

The successful candidate will support critical steam generating equipment, perform daily CHP checks, and deliver a high-quality engineering service on site. BOAS D6A qualification, steam boiler experience, BMS knowledge, asbestos awareness, and a full UK

Qualifications

• Demonstrable evidence of technical qualifications in the relevant field (BOAS D6A preferred).
• Experience on steam generating boiler plant.
• Knowledge of BMS systems; space entry and escape training where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for critical equipment for steam generating operations.
• Carry out daily checks of CHP plant and complete planned maintenance tasks.
• Provide a comprehensive engineering service to the site.
• Carry out isolations to company standards for safe disconnection of equipment.
• Test and adjust mechanical equipment to proven competence.

Due to an increase in upcoming projects, there is now a need for a Mechanical Engineer to join this highly successful and forward-thinking organisation.

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who wants to work in a diverse role where no two days are the same.

As the Mechanical Engineer, you will provide the delivery of both planned and reactive FM maintenance services.

The Mechanical Engineer, will be responsible for:

• Provide support for all critical operational equipment required for steam generating operations on behalf of utilities infrastructure.
• Carry out daily operational checks of the CHP plant and record required information on the agreed format. Complete Planned, Preventive Maintenance tasks on the CHP steam generation plant.
• Provide a comprehensive engineering service to the Site.
• Carry out isolations to Company standards to enable the safe disconnection of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• To check, test, set and adjust mechanical equipment to the levels to their proven competence and electrical resets where applicable.

To be successful for this Mechanical Engineer role you must have:

• Demonstratable evidence of technical qualifications in the relevant field (Preferably BOAS D6A).
• Evidence of previous experience working on Steam generating boiler plant.
• Knowledge of working on BMS systems. Confirmed space entry and escape trained.
• Asbestos Awareness.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
