Job summary

Skillmatch Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a leading UK facilities management contractor in a diverse, long-term role where no two days are the same. Based in the City of London, you will advance within a forward-thinking organisation with strong career progression.

You will perform planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems including plumbing and HVAC, diagnose faults, and ensure safe, efficient operation. A City & Guilds Level 2/3 or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance or facilities management environments.
• Relevant mechanical qualification (City & Guilds Level 2/3 or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of health & safety and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems including plumbing, HVAC (AHUs, FCUs), ventilation and water systems.
• Diagnose faults, complete repairs, and ensure assets operate safely and efficiently.
• Complete inspections, reports, and remedial logs accurately and on time.
• Build strong relationships with clients and respond to queries professionally.
• Work safely at all times, following Permit to Work processes and Health & Safety procedures.
