Job summary

Skillmatch Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for a Mechanical & Electrical Engineer to join a leading facilities management contractor in the UK. The role focuses on carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across M&E systems and ensuring critical services are restored quickly and safely.

You will monitor BMS to optimise site performance and supervise contractors while upholding health and safety standards. A valid UK driving licence is essential for site visits and operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum City & Guilds Level 2 or Level 3 (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering.
• At least 3 years' experience in a commercial M&E environment.
• Valid, clean UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

Due to an increase in upcoming projects, there is now a need for a Mechanical & Electrical Engineer to join this highly successful and forward-thinking organisation.

Role Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across all M&E systems.
• Diagnose faults and restore critical services quickly and safely.
• Monitor and interpret Building Management Systems (BMS) to maintain optimal site performance.
• Supervise contractors and ensure all works comply with health & safety standards and permit-to-work processes.
• Support the operation of key systems including UPS, LV generators, HVAC, and control circuits.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum City & Guilds Level 2 or Level 3 (or equivalent) or HND/HNC, in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• At least 3 years' experience working within a commercial M&E environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of BMS, UPS, LV generators, HVAC, and control circuits.
• Must hold a valid, clean UK driving licence.
