Job summary

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the delivery of mechanical works across the project
• Review drawings, specifications and technical submittals

• Liaise with the design team and manage RFIs and construction information
• Attend site and coordination meetings

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a major data centre project in Blyth. This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer with a building services or mechanical construction background to work on a large-scale, high-specification project.

The role

You will support the delivery and coordination of mechanical works on site, working closely with subcontractors, engineers, the design team and wider project management team to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the delivery of mechanical works across the project
• Review drawings, specifications and technical submittals
• Coordinate daily mechanical activities with subcontractors and site teams
• Monitor progress and provide updates to the project team
• Support site QA/QC processes, inspections and installation checks
• Liaise with the design team and manage RFIs and construction information
• Attend site, engineering, planning and coordination meetings
• Maintain project documentation and technical records
• Assist with identifying and resolving technical and coordination issues
• Support the management and close-out of mechanical snagging
• Assist with tracking variations and progress claims

Requirements

• Degree/HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum 3 years' experience within mechanical construction or building services
• Experience with mechanical systems including HVAC, piping and associated services
• Strong understanding of drawings, specifications and site installation practices
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and site activities
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical installation methodologies
• Data centre, industrial or other mission-critical experience would be advantageous
