Job summary

CDM Recruitment is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for a major data centre project in Blyth. The role focuses on delivering electrical works on site, coordinating with subcontractors and the design team to ensure quality, safety, and programme adherence.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering and at least 3 years of relevant experience, with strong drawing review and coordination skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in electrical construction or building services.
• Experience with power distribution, lighting, and associated services.
• Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specs and site practices.
• Effective communication and organisational abilities.
• Desirable data centre, industrial or mission-critical experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support electrical works across the project.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical submittals.
• Coordinate daily electrical activities with subcontractors and site teams.
• Monitor site progress and provide updates to senior engineers and management.
• Support QA/QC processes, inspections and installation checks.
• Liaise with the design team and manage RFIs and construction information.
• Attend site, engineering, planning and coordination meetings.
• Maintain electrical documentation and technical records.
• Assist with identifying and resolving technical, design and coordination issues.
• Support the management and close-out of electrical snagging.
• Assist with tracking variations and progress claims.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a major data centre project in Blyth. This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Engineer with a construction or building services background to work on a large-scale, high-specification project.

The role

You will support the delivery and coordination of electrical works on site, working closely with subcontractors, engineers, the design team and wider project team to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Data centre, industrial or other mission-critical experience would be advantageous
