Laing O'Rourke are currently seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic facilities team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where you will play a key role in maintaining and improving essential building systems, while ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day support to the facilities team, ensuring efficient and high-quality service delivery.
- Take ownership of incoming facilities requests, responding effectively and seeing them through to resolution.
- Carry out and follow up on regular facilities inspections, addressing actions as required.
- Ensure all work is compliant with relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards.
- Perform planned and reactive maintenance on a range of systems including:
- Chillers
- Boilers
- Pressure Vessels
- Switchgear & Lighting Systems
- Building Management System (BMS)
- Engage in daily monitoring and operation of the BMS.
- Conduct general ad-hoc maintenance tasks as needed.
Key Skills & Attributes:- Logical and well-organised, with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
- Numerate, literate, and detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Demonstrates initiative and takes responsibility for completing tasks from start to finish.
- Deadline-driven and focused on delivering results on time.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- A dependable team player who supports colleagues and contributes to a positive working environment.
- Able to communicate effectively at all levels and build strong working relationships.
Requirements:- Previous experience in a similar Mechanical & Electrical maintenance role.
- Solid understanding of HVAC systems, electrical infrastructure, and building services.
- Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC/HND).
- Good working knowledge of health and safety legislation.
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) is desirable.
