Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Location: St Leonards On Sea, East Sussex

Salary: £30,000 to £36,000 (based on skill level)

About Us

Plastipack is an independent specialist manufacturer headquartered in the UK, producing swimming pool and water storage cover materials. We provide energy and resource saving products sold in roll form to fabricators for both commercial and domestic applications worldwide.

About The Role

This is a full-time on-site role for a Maintenance Engineer. The Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day tasks including equipment breakdown repairs and performing planned maintenance both mechanical and electrical. The ideal candidate will have an electrical bias with good electrical controls skills. Plastic extrusion or industrial manufacturing experience would be an advantage. The role initially involves day shifts, with flexibility for afternoon/evening shifts if required.

Please note: We are not sponsoring overseas candidates. Applicants must live within 1 hour's commute from the factory.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Evaluating machinery and making recommendations for improvements
  • Coordinating maintenance and repair services to keep production equipment operational
  • Assist with spare part stock control
  • Inspecting machinery and reporting faults
  • Identifying faults and troubleshooting
  • Implementing and improving preventative maintenance methods
  • Conducting quality checks on equipment
  • Keeping records of maintenance
  • Carrying out PPM tasks
  • Maintenance and testing of electrical equipment, including PAT testing, fire alarms & emergency lights
  • Creating Safe Operating Procedures
  • Overhauling and replacing parts
  • Helping improve electrical H&S, including LOTO procedures
  • Ensuring safety regulations compliance during maintenance
  • Responding to equipment breakdowns
  • Fixing faults or arranging replacements
  • Updating management on progress
  • Any other reasonable requests
About You
  • Electrical qualification - NVQ level 3 or equivalent
  • IEE 18th edition wiring regulations certification (beneficial)
  • Good knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Team player
  • Highly motivated
  • Strong communication skills
  • Flexibility in working hours
  • Knowledge of industrial machinery, PLC, 3-phase systems, control systems, motors, and drives (beneficial)
  • Good fault-finding skills
  • Knowledge of electrical circuit installation
  • Basic IT skills (Excel & Word)
  • Multiskilling in mechanical work (30% bias towards Mechanical skills)
