Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is seeking a skilled Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their facilities team. Qualifications

Laing O'Rourke are currently seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic facilities team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where you will play a key role in maintaining and improving essential building systems, while ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day support to the facilities team, ensuring efficient and high-quality service delivery.
  • Take ownership of incoming facilities requests, responding effectively and seeing them through to resolution.
  • Carry out and follow up on regular facilities inspections, addressing actions as required.
  • Ensure all work is compliant with relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance on a range of systems including:
    • Chillers
    • Boilers
    • Pressure Vessels
    • Switchgear & Lighting Systems
    • Building Management System (BMS)
  • Engage in daily monitoring and operation of the BMS.
  • Conduct general ad-hoc maintenance tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar Mechanical & Electrical maintenance role.
  • Solid understanding of HVAC systems, electrical infrastructure, and building services.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC/HND).
  • Good working knowledge of health and safety legislation.
  • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) is desirable.
