Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technical Director to lead the Data Centres team across the UK and EMEA. You will drive technical delivery, client engagement and business development for hyperscale and co-location projects, with a focus on leadership, coordination and high-quality delivery.

The role requires Chartered Engineer status and a strong background in mechanical design for data centres, along with proven experience in work winning and client management.

Qualifications

• Strong career background in mechanical delivery for Data Centres and Mission Critical Environments.
• Proven experience leading DC project work streams in UK and across EMEA.
• Demonstrable client facing and work winning experience.
• Excellent team leadership and development capability.
• Detailed knowledge of mechanical design, engineering practices and procedures for Data Centres.
• Strong commercial acumen and experience in managing project financials.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good financial understanding of projects and related requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the growing Data Centre team.
• Provide management and strong grounding in engineering and technical skills for the Data Centre sector.
• Ensure projects meet required results and client needs with full development of deliverables.
• Define project deliverables, organise schedules, manage teams and resources, set standards and guidelines.
• Oversee our EMEA DC sector technical delivery strategy including mentoring and knowledge transfer.
• Involve in Work Winning and Business Development to leverage opportunities with clients for MEP solutions in DC.
• Provide programme management and commercial oversight for major projects.
• Monitor project risk and mitigation, KPIs and resolution of issues.
• Deliver seamless, coordinated mechanical services across the region and align with client needs.
