Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Mechanical Director to lead and deliver data centre projects across the UK and globally. You will manage a growing team, provide engineering leadership, and ensure successful delivery from concept through completion in a fast-growing hyperscale and co-location market.

Qualifications

• Proven track record delivering mechanical projects in data centres and mission-critical environments.
• Experience leading data centre streams in UK and preferably across EMEA.
• Demonstrable client-facing and work-winning capabilities.
• Strong leadership and team development skills.
• Deep knowledge of mechanical design, engineering practices, and client interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Data Centre team across the UK/EMEA region.
• Provide engineering leadership and hands-on technical delivery in the data centre sector.
• Ensure projects meet deliverables, scope and client requirements.
• Define project objectives, schedules, resources and set quality standards for the mechanical sector.
• Oversee technical delivery strategy across EMEA, mentor staff and transfer skills.
• Engage in work-winning and business development to grow the DC pipeline.
• Provide programme management and commercial oversight for major projects.
• Monitor risk, KPIs and issue resolution to keep delivery on track.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their business and culture and adapt delivery accordingly.
