Job summary

AECOM Ireland is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technical Director to lead the Data Centres team across the UK, Ireland and Europe. You will drive design excellence, oversee technical delivery, and manage client relationships in a fast‑growing hyperscale sector.

This hybrid role requires chartered status, strong leadership, and a track record of winning work and delivering large DC projects on time and to budget.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer with CIBSE or equivalent institute.
• Experience delivering data centre projects across UK/EMEA preferred.
• Strong leadership and client-facing skills within fast-growing DC sectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Data Centre team.
• Provide management and strong grounding in engineering & technical skills in the Data centre sector.
• Ensure projects deliver results and meet client needs.
• Set standards, quality guidelines and manage resources for the Data Centre Mechanical sector.
• Oversee the EMEA DC Sector technical delivery strategy and mentoring of the team.
• Involve in Work Winning and Business Development to grow DC opportunities.
• Provide programme management and commercial oversight for major projects.
• Monitor project risk and KPIs, aiding issue resolution.
• Deliver coordinated, on-time mechanical services across the region.
• Partner with clients to understand their business and market changes.
