Job summary

Focusrite Group is offering a 12-month placement as Student Mechanical Design Engineer in High Wycombe. You will contribute to product development, modelling with CAD, prototyping, testing, and BOM/change management under supervision.

You will gain hands-on experience in design tooling, Windchill usage, and collaboration with production engineering to support manufacturing of existing products.

Qualifications

• Currently a student pursuing a CAD-based design/engineering degree.
• Experience with 3D CAD modelling; Creo not essential but desirable.
• Willingness to prototype and test using in-house tools and processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist Mechanical Design Manager with new design projects.
• Create 3D models and 2D drawings using Creo Parametric (or comparable CAD).
• Maintain Bills of Materials and participate in Change Management via Windchill.
• Prototype with in-house 3D printing and CNC routing; test prototypes.
• Support Production Engineering with jig/fixture design and manufacture.
