Job summary

GE Aerospace in the United Kingdom is seeking a mechanical design engineer to support the design, manufacture, testing and deployment of new products. You will contribute to concept design, model components in 3D CAD and generate drawings with GD&T for production.

You will analyse designs to mitigate failures, support rapid prototyping and communicate technical information clearly within the project team. Occasional travel to GE MRO sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in mechanical component and assembly design.
• Clear technical communication and collaboration across teams.
• Experience in design and specification of mechanical components.

Responsibilities

• Support project teams with mechanical engineering activities across design, manufacture, testing and deployment of new products.
• Contribute to concept design including ideation, refinement and down-selection of solutions.
• Model components and assemblies in 3D CAD.
• Analyse designs to identify and mitigate failure modes and assess tolerances.
• Produce component drawings with GD&T for manufacture and assembly.
• Support rapid prototyping and testing using various methods, including in-house 3D printing.
• Generate technical documentation to communicate designs and test outcomes.
• Communicate technical information clearly in meetings, reports, and collaborations.
• Travel occasionally to GE MRO sites to support research and testing; travel rarely more than one working week.
• Undertake other reasonable duties consistent with the role.
