Job summary

Cathedral Appointments | B Corp™ is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Exeter team. You will design and develop new products from concept to production, optimise existing designs for manufacturability, and deliver CAD models and drawings with tolerance analysis.

Collaboration with cross‑functional teams will be essential to drive projects from idea to factory floor. The role offers an onsite working environment in Exeter and opportunities for ongoing professional development within

Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience taking concepts from prototype to volume manufacture.
Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes (folding/welding) is desirable.
Experience with GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
Proven ability to develop manufacturable products in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Design and develop new products from concept through to detailed drawings for manufacture.
Optimise existing products to improve manufacturability, efficiency and cost while maintaining quality.
Produce production-ready CAD models and technical drawings with tolerance analyses and DFMEA as part of the design process.
Collaborate with Production Engineering, Purchasing and Development teams to ensure successful delivery of projects.
