Job summary

CIBSE Journal is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its M&E team working on education and healthcare sector projects. You will assess mechanical building-services through feasibility to construction, contributing to surveys, designs, and technical documentation.

The role offers exposure to design calculations, project coordination, and site activities, with a path toward Chartered Engineer status and professional development.

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent in Mechanical/Building Services Engineering or related field
• Experience in mechanical building-services surveying, design or project delivery
• Experience with engineering calculations
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and 2D drawings
• Understanding of UK Building Regulations and industry standards

Responsibilities

• Undertake mechanical building-services surveys and develop designs and specifications
• Provide technical advice throughout the project lifecycle
• Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, electrical, structural and other disciplines
• Prepare survey reports, asset schedules, and feasibility studies
• Assist in design through to procurement and construction stages
• Participate in client, contractor and design-team meetings
• Support commissioning, snagging, and handover activities
