Job summary

CIBSE Journal is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join its Kent office. You will manage medium to large projects, develop mechanical services designs and liaise with clients and other design professionals to deliver high-quality outcomes.

You will lead a project team, perform design calculations, prepare drawings and reports, and contribute to risk management and development of staff. This role requires Chartered status and strong software skills.

Qualifications

• Senior design engineer with 10+ years post graduate hands-on experience in building services consultancy.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status and membership with CIBSE or IMechE is required.
• Degree and/or masters in building services or architectural engineering.
• Strong IT literacy including Word/Excel and design software.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design for medium to large projects within a multidisciplinary team.
• Manage project teams and coordinate with clients and external design professionals.
• Prepare drawings, write specifications and technical reports.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor works on site.
• Oversee project budgets and income/cost management.
